About DOPF
A coalition of professional online media publishers dedicated to ethical journalism, civic engagement and policy dialogue across Delta State and Nigeria.
The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) is a coalition of professional online media publishers in Delta State, Nigeria, dedicated to responsible journalism, transparency, and civic engagement. Since its formation in 2016, with its first official meeting on February 8, 2017, at Niko Palace Hotel, Oghara, DOPF has played a pivotal role in monitoring governance, informing the public, and shaping policy direction. Its commitment to ethical reportage, even in challenging times, has earned it commendation from the Delta State Government for consistently keeping citizens abreast of government initiatives without sensationalism.
Beyond reporting, the Forum has established itself as a strong voice in public policy. It has commended legislative measures such as the passage of the Delta State Community Security Corps Agency Bill, describing it as a timely response to rural insecurity. Equally, it has continued to advocate for stronger and more constructive relationships between Nigerians and security agencies, emphasizing dialogue, accountability, and mutual trust. DOPF has also built bridges through partnerships and recognition initiatives, such as inducting High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) into its Niger Delta Media Hall of Fame and collaborating with institutions like the University of Delta, Agbor, which commended the Forum’s coverage for enhancing the school’s visibility and appeal.
From its initial 12 registered online platforms—including Ndokwa Reporters, Advocate Online, Sunreporters, Gbaramatu Voice, Freshangle, and Bannermedianetwork—DOPF has grown to more than 40 members today. The Forum was formally incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission on November 9, 2017, under CAC/IT/No 102873, with its operational office in Asaba, Delta State. Guided by its vision of promoting professionalism, transparency, and accountability in the media space, DOPF operates through a structured leadership comprising a Board of Trustees and an Executive Council led by a Chairman. Its flagship initiatives, the Annual DOPF LECTURE SERIES and the FRONTLINE PROGRAMME, remain credible platforms for policy interrogation and engagement, bringing together government, civil society, and stakeholders to deepen policy formulation and strengthen implementation for the development of Delta State and Nigeria.
